Hello and welcome to Beautiful Thieves Photography,

My name is Seana Stevenson (SeanaSteve) and I am a freelance photographer and journalist. At sixteen I began writing music reviews, attending shows and interviewing up and coming artists for a small Montreal based webzine. My first interview was with a tiny female fronted band I adored called Paramore, who are now a Grammy award winning band.

When I turned 17 I moved to Halifax to attend the University of King’s College. This was an amazing four years amerced in philosophy, writing, dancing, music, art and theatre. Near the end of my time my focus had shifted from writing to photography thanks to a course in photojournalism.

The summer after university I travelled throughout the maritimes, spending time in St. Martins, New Brunswick, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Charlottetown, P.E.I and even made it to Harbour Grace, where my grandfather grew up, and St. John’s, Newfoundland. Travelling around and taking photos of this beautiful country made me long to be a photographer.

A friend and I packed up a tiny car and headed west, travelling from Ontario to British Columbia. Along the way I took hundreds of photos of the gorgeous countryside, most featured on this site. As we settled in Vancouver I got an internship with Public Records and Hush Magazine, one writing about music and interviewing artists, the other taking event photographs around the city. I attended the Fan Expo, Tattoo Convention, Battle of the Brush, fashion shows and Vancouver Fashion Week. This was an incredible experience and got me a job with Golden Brush Art
