Annie Edison, portrayed by Alison Brie, is innocent, straight laced, and uptight. But what makes Annie interesting is her backstory. While in high school she became addicted to Adderall, had a nervous breakdown and is now putting her life back together.

Annie is the voice of reason in the study group. She is overly caring and always tries to make people – Jeff – do the right thing. Annie sees the best in people and as she gets older begins to see her full potential and learns how her past will help her in the future.

During the first season she dresses demure and conservative. Her staples are neutral and darker colours, cardigans and cute dresses. Her style is based around her personality, using sweet prints, and matching her shirts, cardigans and shoes. As the seasons progress she experiments with her look, wanting to appear older and more mature.

Annie’s beige pants and cardigans represent her conservative, straight laced values. Adding a pop of colour helps her stay youthful, even though her shirt is also neutral, the print helps to keep it interesting. While still demure, Annie does like to keep her style interesting.
