‘Clothes, Friends, Photos’ proves that all you need is creativity to produce a beautiful EP. Peter Lyons and Kerry Leatham recorded this EP in Lyons bedroom in only a few days and it is one of the better EPs I’ve heard this year.

The song ‘Crash and Burn’ contains the lyric “every corner dip creek tells a story I’m comfortable with…” this line perfectly describes this EP. Every corner, dip, and creek of each song tells of something different. Every noise, lyric and pause tells a deeper story that keeps you involved in the songs and makes you crave more.

‘Half Empty’ is a very soft and sweet song that makes you feel as though you are in the middle of a dark ocean. The ‘tah-tah-tah-tah’ banging gives a very haunting effect with Leatham’s voice floating over the almost harsh sounding strums. The rising and falling ‘yeahs’ at the end provide the perfect waves to help bring you back to shore.

‘The Shadow’ has a mystical quality to it. Leatham’s voice sails over beautiful oohs in the background. The chimes and bells add an effervescent quality.

It is a great EP for two young artists, and I’m interested to see where they go in the future.
